Why, As a Christian Vote for Trump?

THIS POST HAS ERRORS AND IS NOT A COMPLETE WORK, BUT I FELT IT NEEDED TO GET OUT.

It is a time for self reflection for many Christians. How could Trump lose? Why did God allow his chosen leader have lost? We prayed? Before you say it must be God’s will, you need to really think this through. Every aspect of it from why you supported him and why you believe he was chosen from God and not others who held the office before him.

I want to go back in history and point out that something has changed through the years. We don’t have to go back far. In 1992 we elected Bill Clinton as president. He beat out the Elder George H. Bush. Mostly ovee the economy. He was plagued by scandals, with a bunch of conspiracy theories thrown in. The icing on the cake was his affair with Monica Lewinsky. We got through this and on with Bush and Obama. Neither had any scandals of a personal, morally nature like cheating on their wives.

There is a sign of hypocrisy in these double standards. Actually, we may even be able to divide this up to sins. Maybe? The one thing that stands out is many criticized Hillary Clinton for staying with her husband.

Many accused her of staying in her marriage as getting power from Bill. Some even said it was a sign of weakness. This coming from Christians is a sign of rot that the church seems to be in. I did not hear anyone take up for her decision as her believing it was her Christian beliefs or even her love for Bill. Many saw her as cold and power hungry. But, she has talked about the pain he caused her, the decision she had to make about staying with her. It was not easy, and people forget she has had success on her own merit that she did not need Bill any longer.

Contrast this with Donald Trump. Whom, has been divorced three times. Each time after he cheated on his wife at the time and with a younger woman. Stormy Daniels was paid because he once again cheated on his wife. Yet, he has been given a pass. Why? What makes him better than Bill? If nothing else, he is worse than Bill, morally at least.

The biggest reason was abortion. Allowing abortion now outweighs all other problems we have and all other moral measures one uses? If that is the only reason, one must ask what puts this above all other issues. It is insane if that is the only reason. I am not here to argue the merits of abortion, just using that as the single issue. I understand the argument of killing babies, I don’t agree with some of you who use the Moloch god as reference, but I understand it. I can also talk about innocent lives and we can talk about the sin of killing all night long. My point there is more than one sin and frankly if that was your reason for voting for Trump. After all the Republicans has both houses in 2016. Any Republican President could have made the changes during this time and many would have. So, why Trump?

Let’s do look back at 2016. During the Republican primary race you had a number of candidates. Each had their flaws, but each were pro-life. One was a devoted Christian man and one who I believe was the best choice. Some will say he was soft in this area. As a governor he was limited in what could be done and realist in that why waste money until there was a change at the top. So, yes he vetoed a bill that has zero chance of passing the courts. Pretty smart and wise use of tax payers money. He was also one who was not afraid to speak about his faith and talked about how it shaped on how he lead. Yet, the very fact that most Republicans run on a pro-life ticket means this type of reasoning goes out the door. At this point, you must ask yourself why did you vote for this man? He had to be for another reason.

Part of his appeal, is the belief that people think we need a businessman to run the government. Problem with this belief is the Government isn’t set up like a business and a President is not equal to a CEO. Yet, most Americans don’t have the basic understanding of how our government works. Why is because of our educational system does not do a good job of this. In Indiana a semester of government in your senior year is all you get. It isn’t enough and it shows. The belief that they can be ran the same way, has got to go. It isn’t correct and never will be. You want a good president, look for a good governor.

Even if the government was ran like a business, Trumps record is not the best. He is not a Ross Perot, who did successfully start, ran and sold a business. Unlike Trump, Ross was born poor, worked as a young boy. He also served his country, something Trump did not do. Would Ross Perot, been a better president had he won? It would be hard to say, but had he won, I imagine he would have adapted quicker than President Trump. But that is conjecture at this point. The truth is, Perot had a better ethic and moral character than Trump and that alone makes him a better leader.

Many of you have given President Trump a break on his moral compass on the belief he is a baby Christian. Which I totally understand the feeling and the need to do this, but the fruit is not maturing and is becoming rotten. Right now as I write this, we are watching Trump continue to lie and sow seeds of doubt on our electoral system. Not a sign of a Christian leader, if there is fraud, put it out there for all to see and not say they will show it in court. The problem with them showing it in court is, they have not been able. The reason for that, is they have none. Their biggest problem, is that lawyers cannot just give false testimony or false evidence, doing so will ruin their lively hoods. They is a reason Jay Sekuloe and other top Trump lawyers are staying away from this.

I degrees, this is more about President Trump’s fruit than that of his lawyers. You may try to push the narrative that the division that the United States was or is caused by the Democrats. That would not be the truth and to say other wise is closing your eyes to what had gone on during the Obama years. He pushed the birther conspiracy for those eight years.

I started this article not long after the election, I had planned on finishing it up on January 20. The day that President-elect Biden became President. With events from January 6th fresh in my mind, I knew I could not wait and it was time I stood up. I am not playing this game any longer. The country that I love and the Constitution that I believe in was nearly torn asunder by right-wing people who not only carried the Trump flag, but also the Christian Flag into the storming of the Capital building. I hold everyone of you accountable for this. Your ignorance of Constitutional law, your willingness to believe in conspiracy theories, and you lack of history of the United States, led this nation down a path of near destruction. Never in this history have we had people do what we saw, we have protests, and they have been nasty ones, but none have resulted in the Capital being taken by force.

There is a lot of blame for this to go around, but as Christians who supported this man, it lays on your shoulders. Many of you, I am talking to the pastors who spoke for this man from the pulpit, have said that God told you that Trump would have a second term. Some, said the truth would come out. Well, guess what? He isn’t going to get a second term, the probability of him running again is about nill and the only thing you have right is the truth came out. It just not the truth you thought it would be, you modern day Pharisees! I am not done and some of you will not like what I have to say.

Being part of a democratic republic means you have to learn to live with others and their beliefs. You must understand this. That means if a man wants to sin, then he has the right. You do not get to tell a person how they should live by our religious beliefs.
